MPAs & Sanctuaries California MPAs California Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) National Marine Sanctuaries in the CeNCOOS Region There are three National Marine Sanctuaries within the CeNCOOS region: The Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary Cordell Bank National Marine AIS Ship Traffic Positions and tracks of vessels with radio transmitters (generally large ships). Positions are determined by receiver stations along the coast.
